This is a super potent, liquid spagyric tincture featuring equal parts schizandra and goji berries.
Dosing | How to Use This Spagyric Tincture
Start with 1 dropper under the tongue or in a little bit of hot water, 1-3x per day, or as needed. The latter is my favorite way of consumption as the hot water seems to open everything up and allow all of the amazing aromatics and flavor compounds to fully express themselves.
Schisandra is renowned in Traditional Chinese Medicine as one of the fifty fundamental herbs. It is sometimes called the five-flavored fruit, as its berries are one of the only foods rumored to contain all five flavors: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, and bitter.
The schizandra berry itself is actually the fruit of a woody, upward-growing vine, native to the deciduous forest of China and Russia. The berries have been used traditionally for centuries, with Russian hunters having consumed them in the form of a tea to stave off fatigue. Schisandra berries are still harvested in China and Russia today, where they are often turned into juices, wines, extracts, and sweets. Spagyrics, syrups, or tinctures, however, are the most potent ways of consuming this legendary beneficial herb.
In the Traditional Chinese Medicine world, goji is known as a general nutrient tonic, yin tonic, and cooling tonic. These bright red berries (quite similar in taste and texture to raisins) were traditionally included in food or prepared as a tea.
Goji berries are known to tonify the qi and the blood, while also being gently detoxifying. Goji can also benefit the eyes, build Yin, and reinforce the Essence (or Jing). For these reasons and many more, goji has been hailed for centuries as an all-around health tonic.
