FAQ | Hyperion Herbs

It’s my first time on this site - where do I start?

If it is your first time visiting this site or researching herbs in general, it is important to really read into each product and see what resonates with you.  Write down things that stand out, or any questions you may have, and for general questions, feel free to email us at info@hyperionherbs.com.  If you are attempting to treat a condition, are wondering about medicinal interactions, or need health advice, please consult a medical professional before proceeding with the purchase. Also, please note we are only retailers of the herbs, not medical professionals.

What are tonic herbs?

Tonic herbs are an elite class of herbs used by both Western and Chinese herbal medicine systems. The term “tonic” generally refers to food-based substances that are nutritionally dense and more potently nourish specific organs of the body than other herbs. Therefore, they are intended to be consumed regularly on and off for long periods of time to build up and protect these organs while accelerating biological human potential.

What are these powders?

The powders and capsules contain concentrated extract of tonic herbs. For example, our he shou wu is a 20:1 concentration, which means 20 lbs of the raw herb created 1 pound of our extract, making it 20x more potent than a single extraction concoction.

The extracts on hyperionherbs.com are dual extracts made using hot water and alcohol, and then tested at all stages to ensure they contain the beneficial compounds you’re looking for. High quality extraction ensures optimal potency, bioavailability, absorption, and digestion.

Can the different extracts be used together or combined?

If you’re just starting out, it’s best to stick with one herb at a time to really get to know it and get a sense for what it’s doing for you specifically. However, all the herbs I sell are safe to combine, and many go quite nicely together. For example - the mushroom extracts are delicious when mixed into gynostemma tea.

It can be interesting to mix and match different herbs together once you are familiar with their individual properties and effects on your body. Just take note that the combination of herbs may cause them to take on new energies and feelings, and as always, consult a health or wellness professional with formula questions unique to your bod

How do I know what products to take together / pair well together?

Again, all the herbs I sell are safe to combine with one another. If you’d like a more in-depth guide to herbs that pair well together, you can get a full PDF guide when you join my email list. Do I need to take tonic herbs daily?

Tonic herbs serve as a helpful adjunct to things like a healthy diet, regular exercise, and good sleep. As such, they’re equally fine to take on a regular basis. The easiest comparison is to think of it like exercise, some on a regular basis is good, but you don’t want to overdo it and taking a break now and again can be helpful too.

Where are you located? Where do your products ship from?

All of our products ship from Savannah, Georgia.

What is the difference between the powders and the pills/capsules? Is one better than the other?

The capsules are actually vegetarian capsules filled with concentrated extract.  In other words, both the extracts and the capsules contain the exact same thing. For example, the Lion’s Mane Capsules contain the same extract that is used in the Lion’s Mane Extract. It just comes down to whether you prefer to have a powdered extract or if it is more convenient for you to take a capsule

How should I store your products and keep them fresh? In the refrigerator or out of the refrigerator?

The products are best stored in a cool, dark, dry place. They do not require refrigeration. Refrigeration can actually be harmful as it can introduce moisture to the powder which is not a good thing.

How long are the herbs good for?

We mark our products individually with the date of manufacture, but if they are kept sealed, they will last at least two years from the purchase date. Their longevity mostly depends on how they are kept.

Does the extract powder have significant calories or carbohydrates?

No, the extract powders are pure herbal extract with no fillers or additives, as a result, the calorie and carbohydrate content is negligible or next to nonexistent.

Can you tell me how to use the product? I’m so curious!

There are many ways to use the extracts. You can take them just by putting an amount in your mouth and swishing it around with water before swallowing. Or you can add them directly to hot water to make a tea, add them to juices, smoothies, elixirs, tea, milk, etc. They can even be added to ice cream, yogurt, oat meal, etc (really!) and you can even make chocolate and baked goods with them.  The possibilities are endless.  For some amazing recipes, check out the blog.

Are there any sales or coupons running?

Yes, we send out discounts on a regular basis to the e-mail list, so make sure you are signed up for that and you’ll get an email once or twice a month with a discount code. To join, just enter your email into the footer at the bottom of this page, where it says “Join the Hyperion Family.”

Can I use multiple promotion codes at the same time?

No, discounts are limited to only one promo code at a time.

Do you offer bulk/wholesale options?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any wholesale options at this time. We do offer discounted rates for 16oz/bulk purchases of some extracts. You can see this on the individual product pages.

What is a concentrated extract? Are all the extracts on the site concentrated?

Yes, the concentration of the extracts ranges anywhere from 8:1 to 20:1. This means 8-20 pounds of raw herb are distilled down into 1 pound of pure, potent extract.

Are your products organic?

Yes - all of our products are grown organically, extracted purely, and secured in their respective packaging without the usage of any fillers.

How many servings in a typical 4oz bag of extract?

If you consume ½ teaspoon a day, you would get 57 servings per bag. This makes the value and cost per serving per bag extremely attractive, with Cost Per Serving ranging around $0.70-0.80 cents per serving on average.

How does it taste? Is the taste pleasant?

The taste will vary depending on the product. Overall, though, it’s important to remember these are herbal extracts, so they will primarily taste like the herb themselves. In general, herbs like Reishi can be quite bitter, but other herbs like Chaga or He Shou Wu are extremely delicious. If you don’t particularly care for the taste, you can simply add the extract to coffee or a smoothie, which makes the taste much more subtle and sometimes unnoticeable. Or simply opt for capsules instead :) Overall though the vast majority of herbs I sell taste quite good.
